LIGHT for LEBANON

Founded in August 2020 after the Beirut port explosion, as a local chapter for a non profit US based organization « Light Reach »; made of a group of intellectual lighting designers, all working on our own time to actively liven up communities using solar lighting. The goal of LFL is to bring quality of life after dark in Beirut’s Urban Spaces, using ready solar lighting tools, vetted and tested for lifetime quality, and targeting urban communities while accessing heavily impacted areas that do not receive more than a couple hours of electricity a day. With over 15 interventions, and approximately 3,500 lighting products purchased, we were able to cater to at least 6,000 local Lebanese people.

Among the 15 projects that included portable solar lantern distributions to the elderly and the visually impaired, here is a list of some impactful projects reviving communities after dark:

●     Qarantina

●     Fire department

●     Mobile playground (burj hammoud)

●     Beirut river

●     Salah Labaki road

●     Orphenage: Dar Al Awlad

●     Jesuite Park
